Brotha Lynch Hung-Coathanga Strangala
I'll start off by saying that Lynch is NOT for everyone. Throughout the course of his nearly 20 year career he's rapped about everything from murder, drugs, guns, depression, rape, and even cannibalism. His music is definitely not for those with a weak stomach.
After last years surprise success, Dinner And A Movie, Lynch follows up with the 2nd release in his trilogy called "Coathanga Strangala." If you thought things were fucked up on Dinner And A Movie, you're about to be in for a surprise. But even though Coathanga Strangala contains much darker lyrics than before, it's just not as good.
What made Dinner And A Movie so awesome was that Lynch sounded focused. He had dope beats, his rhymes were as wild as ever, and the skits helped move the album along smoothly. You really felt like you were a part of the experience. This time around, Lynch's rhymes are still on point but some of the beats feel bland and the skits seem to be there just because.
However, when the beats and rhymes are on point, the shit ROCKS. Tracks like "Look It's A Dead Body" and "Blinded By Desire" are dope as fuck.
This album would be much better if the tracks overrun by guests were removed, the skits helped push the album along more, and if some of the beats were better. As it stands its a strong album but after thoroughly enjoying Dinner And A Movie, I expected more.
Check these 2 tracks
"Look It's A Dead Body" (This isn't an official music video)
"Blinded By Desire"
If you want to do further research on dude, check out tracks like "Walkin To My Funeral", "Rest In Piss", "Meat", "Colostomy Bag", "Black Market", "Siccmade", and "Feel My Nature Rize."
Also check his album "Season Of Da Siccness" which is considered by many a classic even though it was clearly recorded on a low budget. Check "Loaded" for a more G-Funk experience and "Dinner & A Movie" if you want to hear a more recent album release.
