This is my favorite song of the moment, Man Down by Rihanna. Here is the just released video. Loves it!

Enjoy

The Lebrons ep 8

During the halftime of the game check out this new episode of the LeBrons.. damn these episodes are getting shorter and shorter

Alone in Vegas (preview)

That whip is too clean and if you read my review of Fear of God you already know I've been waiting for this video to drop.. To give us a little teaser of what's to come Pusha let loose of this little gem on his twitter earlier

Wale-The Cloud (Official Video)

One of the strongest, and most original tracks from Wale's "More About Nothing" mixtape gets the video treatment with "The Cloud". I'm very surprised this song got the video love, especially since the tape dropped almost a year ago, but I guess enough people let Wale know that this track needed to be seen as well as heard and here you have it. Very cool video, wish I woulda gotten the invite to this party hahah, see for yourself.

Asher Roth featuring Akon- Last Man Standing

I love the beat, and I'm surprised.. I didn't know Asher could flow like that.

Erykah Badu-Annie

I'm sure most of you have heard this by now, but I felt like giving you all some free sunday night funk. This one is on the house.

J. Cole- How High

well well what do you know, the man J. Cole releasing more heat?? surely you jest... hahah seriously though ladies and gentleman, this guy must really have something special in store for us with Cole World, with all these album worthy tracks being leaked just for the fuck of it. This track reminds me of something T.H.U.G. Life era 2pac would've dropped, very chill, very deep, very relatable, something for the mind and soul. And no I'm not comparing Cole to Pac like that but, if you listen to the track you can definitely hear the influences. Heres a shout to Cole for giving us all these noteworthy tracks for free and keeping the buzz for Cole World sky high.. click the link, it's an easy choice.

Chino's vs. Khaki's

Okay so apparently there is some confusion when it comes to Chino's and the difference between Chino's and Khaki's. I didn't even know what Chino's were before today, so I decided to do some research. (Below is Docker's D1 Slim Leg Chino Pant— from Nordstrom)
CHINOS- Usually have a narrower cut of the legs. Made up of a blend of cotton and stretchy synthetic fibers. They are considered dressier than khaki's, but still not formal

KHAKIS- Are made from 100% cotton and are considered a standard American pant. They can usually be worn anywhere and with any type of shoe. They usually can be found in black, beige, navy and khaki colors.

Hopefully that clears any pant pandemonium you may be experiencing!

The Real Is Back

I really hope Jeezy can make a comeback.. a lot of his drops have been lackluster in the past year.. Let's hope this mixtape with DJ Drama changes the tide..

Love is the Answer

Erykah Badu makes magic again. I stumbled across this new video she dropped with her new song "Out my Mind" and an awesome interpretive dance video that accompanies it. Enjoy.

Born This Way

Okay I've been listening to GaGa's new album nonstop and I have come to the conclusion that it is AMAZING! She didn't want it to sound anything like The Fame and The Fame Monster and she succeeded. This album is filled with power ballads such as "Edge of Glory," inspirational tales such as "Born This Way," and "Bad Kids," love songs such as "You and I," and songs praising strength in women such as "Scheiße," (My personal FAVORITE)

A lot of my gay friends (gays represent a LARGE proportion of her fan base) complained that these songs weren't dancy enough, but for one— her songs are always remixed by European DJ's anyway so there are no worried there, and for two these songs are more inspirational! And I have to disagree— I think a lot of the are very "dancy." I for one am so excited for the "Born This Way" era to take flight! I LOVE THIS ALBUM!

How to Pop - Lock

I'm always amazed when I see this video.

The Twins or Les Twins as they are known, are comprised of two French brothers that are some of the most fluid and well timed individuals I have ever seen and this ain't no ballet.

Faith vs Fear - Tom Hanks - Yale Commencement 2011

My YouTube Inspirational Video of the Day

Move forward and forever forward - Tom Hanks
If fear is cultivated it will become stronger, if faith is cultivated it will become mastery - Nathan H.

Tom Hank drops knowledge on the 2011 class at Yale and this is something everyone can benefit from in my humble opinion. He told it like it is and I respect that.

He tells a great story from 12:20~17:00 about dealing with fear, the number one killer of creativity.

So at a basic level I will try not to cockblock myself in my up and coming plans, you should do the same.

Peace

How To Love

Here is another single off Wayne's next installment of the the Carter Series.. This is def more of the rock Wayne but I can see this becoming a hit to some degree.. I've been seeing a lot of features for Weezy on the radio so the release date must be rapidly approaching. What do y'all think?

Females in Hip Hop

So after Trace posted that Kreayshawn track ("Gucci Gucci, Louis Louis, Fendi Fendi, Prada!") I did a little research, apparently she is from is good friends with Lil' B, no comment, but I was reading an article by the Village Voice on the next internet Phenom and I thought I should do a post about females in hip hop. I'd like to compile a list for the future. I don't really see many female MC's mainstream besides Nicki Minaj and if you want, Ke$ha.

Lately I've been trying to figure out what's been missing from their side. Feminists may love me for this one but I'm just speaking on how I see it. Women have pretty much always taken a backseat role when it has come to entertainment value, if you look at a rap or rock video from the last decade, I guarantee you will find at least one scantily clad woman to provoke some crazy fantasy and thats about it. I was watching London Boulevard the other day and one of the main characters, a struggling actress, comments to her lover that in movies the female is almost always there to make the man look good. I still see it today but I cant speak for women because I'm not one. So to sum up my point I'll let one of my favorite artists talk about it.
‘And I’ve been known to talk about women on a track or two / I talk to women / I just can’t talk for women, that’s for you / we need women for that / more women in rap’.
- ShadK - Keep Shining

Listen below:
Keep Shining -TSOL -Shad K

He was interviewed by Canadian Interviews where he addressed the issue:

CI: A couple little questions about ‘Keep Shining’: that’s a song that gets highlighted a lot in articles, I’ve noticed, just because it’s rare to hear someone in hip-hop talk about the lack of women in rap music. Out of curiosity, what is it that you feel is missing in rap that more women in the game would help to address – what specifically?

SK: For me it’s like this. If you have dudes in a room talking, if you put a girl in that room, guys will just be maybe a little bit more cautious about what they say. Do you know what I mean? Just open up whatever the conversation is, and have it not be such a ‘dude’ thing. That’s sort of how I see it, just in that sense of opening up a dialogue.

CI: A lot of the time when you do hear women in rap it’s almost a contest of who can sound most like the guys in rap. It would be interesting to hear it come from a totally different perspective. Is there anybody that comes to mind that is doing that at all, or is it just mostly absent?

SK: There are definitely some female MCs just killing it right now. The kind of style that they bring can vary. It can be anything from a harder sort of swagger to something that’s very stereotypically feminine in style and in voice. There’s a cool range, and some people can do both at the same time. I saw Eternia up on stage in a dress, looking fly, and also rapping as hard as anyone. That was a really cool style and swagger to see on stage.

I feel the biggest thing when it comes to rap is that its expected that females have to go hard, be the baddest bitch etc etc, and that is a tough hype to live up to, not that theres anything wrong with that (like the video below) but it doesn't leave room for any other topics.

Lil Cali Feat. Na'tee - Hustle Hard

I was reading a few articles written by Bryan Sims, professor and a hip-hop purveyor with a level head, the way he broke down kim vs nicki had me nodding my head about 'Artist Cloning', the industry and the concept of beef, and an open letter to Tarica June a DC talent had me inspired (whose work you can check out here) Her mix-tape 'The Moonlight Revolution' is a excellent odyssey through the female perspective.

Now getting back to Kreayshawn whose video we posted a few days back, is she the next big female rapper or is it all hype? You decide. I just hope she'll keep true to her roots its always a tragedy and downfall of a rapper when they forget their roots, so I hope she doesn't get lost in the hype that is about to come.

Raphael Siddiq - The Answer

I'm always down for some smooth tunes and recently I bumped into this track by Raphael Saadiq - The Answer from his album "Stone Rollin" (2011)

It's a good feel track that leaves the listener with some wise words of advice and how to help one another.

Let me know what you think, whats your answer?

Opio & Equipto-Red X Tapes

Opio, from Souls Of Mischief, and Equipto, from Bored Stiff, have joined forces to release Red X Tapes. I've only given it one listen so far but I can say its definitely a solid tape that will satisfy hip-hop fans. Check out the track "Buildin" and then give the whole album a listen using the BandCamp player at the bottom.

History of the Crossover

The Washington Post breaks us off with some serious candy for bball fans.
Take a look...

So the question is who do you think has the best crossover?

Hangover II

Okay so I just got back from the midnight showing of the Hangover II and here are my thoughts.

YES it was HILARIOUS!! However, I don't think it was as classic or as funny as the first movie. It was the same premise (a lost member of the group and then the search and rescue of said member) and a lot of the same events kind of happened in different ways. But I can't give too much away. I still laughed my butt off, but one thing I was really annoyed of is that they made Alan dumber than he was in the last movie. He had hilarious lines and everything, and I figure that he was a lot of people's favorite character in the first movie so they wanted to give him a more integral role, BUT they didn't have to make it SO ridiculous. HOWEVER they had more of our favorite international criminal Leslie Chow who was personally my favorite character in the last movie, and he made it 5X more hilarious.

So that is my review, I think everyone should see it, but I don't think its as great as the first one

HiiiPower

Official visuals for Kendrick Lamar's lead single, Section 80.. This album is up there with my most anticipated of the year.. I have no doubt Kendrick will deliver some quality thought provoking music.. If you haven't listened to Overly Dedicated I suggest you do that immediately or else I'll slap you across the head like Homie da Clown on In Livin Color lol

The Big Picture

I'm excited to see where Malice goes with his music when the Clipse reunite.. Also looking forward to the name change.. I really respect dude for having a spiritual and mental awakening, and I think he will become a more complete artist because of it.

Joplin

No bullshit this video brought tears to my eyes.. Just hearing the lady scream for the Lord in a time of need truly touched me.. Here I am last night being stressed over a Heat v Bulls game when people in this city lost everything they've ever known..

I don't know y'alls financial standing and I'm not going to ask that you give money to the people of this city.. But I will say with NO hesitation that I will donate and pray for this city.. Here is the shocking video of one of the most devastating tornado's in US history..

Get Tribal

Tribal prints are really big this season, and nowhere have I seen this style celebrated more than in Forever 21. They have any article of clothing you can think of in a tribal print!

I love the fun colors and patterns of tribal prints. They really stand out— in a great way!

Rock The Bells 2011

Since last Summer I have been looking forward to the legendary Rock The Bells.. and as you can see they are not making a stop in the DMV this year.. looks like I'm gonna have to boss up and save some money to make the trek up to Boston or NY for the concert.. One way or the other I will be there getting nice footage for y'all.. that's my word

The Legacy of Marvin Gaye

Marvin Gaye has to be one of the most influential artist of our past century.

40 year anniversary of "What's going on?" was yesterday.
"What's Going On"...as relevant today as it was 40 years ago. What does that tell us?

What do think? Do "oldies" have any influence on what we hear and see today?
More to come on Marvin soon...

The LeBrons ep 7

Drizzy makes an appearance in the 7th episode of 10.. we are rapidly approaching the end, excited to see how this mini-series turns out.. Any predictions?

Stalley- #ChevysAndSpaceships

Dropping his first COMPLETELY new material since signing with MMG, Stalley gives us some quality FREE music with #ChevysAndSpaceships. Feauturing the production of frequent collaborator and fellow Ohio native, Rashad, this track has a cool old school flow and heavy hard hitting drums, great for your whip or workout needs. Enjoy yourselves and listen this young man continue to grow and do big things.

MMG at 106th

Self Made dropped today and to celebrate the release the MMG crew stopped by 106th and Park to perform "Play your Part" and "Tupac Back"

Wale has the South Beach Foams on in the video.. look for some more info regarding these kicks as the release date approaches

New COD Modern Warfare 3 Trailer

I'm a big fan of the Call of Duty series, as you all probably are too, but I haven't really been impressed IMPRESSED with the series since the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1. Although COD 2 and COD 2: Black Ops were very good additions to the series I felt like the multiplayer levels and guns that could be chosen in COD 1 were never quite matched in these more recent additions. I cannot lie to y'all and tell you much about the single player modes as I only played through COD 1, halfway through COD 2, and COD: Black Ops I never have even tried, but I mean I feel like the majority of people buy these games for the multiplayer, and that's what I will be looking forward to most in this update. Check out the video and get yourselves ready for the November release date.

Coat Dresses

We saw coat dresses everywhere during the Royal Wedding (i.e. Princess Beatrice, above) but thats not all! They are also running rampant through Burberry Prorsum's Fall 2011 line

I love the bold bright colors and patterns of these coat dresses, it will add an excellent pop of color to a dreary fall/ winter day

Gucci Gucci

I've never heard of this rapper Kreayshawn, but I saw this song and I'm OBSESSED with it! Its called Gucci Gucci, check it out here

I love the beat and the hook is catchy

It kind of reminds me of another old favorite of mine "So Rich, So Pretty" by Mickey Avalon. I kind of like people with interesting voices who brag about their lives in raps... excluding Ke$ha

Return of Simba

I don't know if this is the official single but it's some new J.Cole so it's a perfect end to a great day

Clouds FINAL

Here it is, the official Version of Henny's CLOUDS! We've posted a few BTS in anticipation of these visuals.. The concept is crazy and unorthodox for a hip-hop video.. Some people might not fuck with it but I ALWAYS salute originality and music that will help the genre move forward. I had the privilege of seeing him perform live last night at the Mac Miller show and look for some more footage featuring Henny real soon. Till then sit back with an open mind and get lost in the clouds

Frank Ocean- #AcuraIntegurl (Official Video)

Anyone that reads my twitter or spends time with me in the real world knows that I got nothing but love and admiration (pause) for the man, Frank Ocean. He sings from the heart, and sings tracks that I feel like the majority of us can vibe with, one being Acura Integurl. This video is very Ocean-like in the fact that its laid back but engaging. Definately check it out, I still got my fingers crossed that Frank will do a Songs for Women or Lovecrimes video, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I also decided I should post up the Stream of Nostalgia, Ultra , courtesy of datpiff, because I feel like some of you all are still sleeping on Mr. Ocean. Don't be afraid to click on a song or two, just make sure to thank me later haha..

Entorouge x The Weekend

Entourage, one of my favorite shows, has changed it theme song to The Weekend's "High for This" The song doesn't really reveal much about what to expect this season but it does seem like a fitting title for how the last season ended. This will be Entourage's swan song and I anticipate a legendary season. I got a bad feeling Vinney Chase might die, I hope I'm wrong but it's just an inkling.

HBO Entourage x The Weeknd "High for This" Promo from broke mogul on Vimeo.

Lucky for us HBO has a stellar line up of original series to make the transition to life without Entourage easier.. Game of Thrones, How to make it in America, Eastbound and Down, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Hung are just a few. But believe us we here at #JMHO will miss the show and we will be posting every single tidbit we can find regarding the series entering its final season.

Here is the full version of "High for This"

American Dreaming - Mitchell and Ness

American Dreaming magazine interviews the President of fabled company Mitchell And Ness. This is a great interview and you get to see some ridiculous jersey's in the official store based in PA. Also, the president gives advice for any budding business' and entrepreneur's out there.. All in all a lot can be taken from this 7 minute video

Opera interviews Ralph Lauren

As a "Lo Head" I was extremely interested to see this interview. It is short, but reveals quite a bit about the legend himself, Ralph Lauren

Revisionist History

The problem with sports, and other facets of life, is we tend to remember what we want. We call this phenomenon revisionist history. When it comes to the "clutch" debate, the casual fan from the most hardcore fan tend to agree Kobe Bryant is the most "clutch" player in the game. Over the past year there has been a bevy of articles trying to educate people that this belief about Kobe is simply not true. Yes, Kobe has won championships and made clutch plays during these runs. But I argue that "clutch" has been redefined over the past few years in many fans eyes to include only Buzzer Beaters. Clutch is not hitting the buzzer beater w/ .7 seconds left. Its about making plays down the STRETCH RUN of the game to keep your team in it or propel your team to a win. I have heard so much nonsense this year that LeBron is not clutch because he's missing fade away threes as time expires. I am in the school that clutch is the lat 5 minutes of the game by games decided by less than 5 points during that span.

Just for arguments sake I am going to post Kobe Bryant's playoff misses and makes and let you be the judge of how clutch these numbers are. I have verified this statistics from various sources. I first want to post playoff only because that's when player's legacy's are defined.

I have nothing else to say except 6/23!

Now this is not to discredit Kobe Bryant, this is to raise an awareness that when players miss buzzer beaters it doesn't mean they are not clutch. And the most widely considered "clutch" player in the NBA, shoots roughly 25% in buzzer beaters. Because so many fans are revisionist historians today we forget that Robert Horry and Derek Fisher were the ones hitting the clutch shots in the waning moments of games. But, since Kobe is the best player remaining on the Lakers and one of the last pieces remaining from the dynasty we give him the benefit of the doubt for being the most clutch player during that time. In regular season games to tie or go ahead during the final 24 seconds Kobe Bryant is a whopping 36/115, this information was gathered from a Henry Abbot article on TrueHoop. That's roughly 30% which again is significantly below his career average for shooting percentage.

I just hope people can realize clutch is more than hitting the buzzer beater. When watching the games down the stretch see who takes the charge, grabs the rebound, makes the perfect pass out of the double team, hits the shots, and makes the steak to cease control of the game. Those plays are just as clutch as the game winner, because without those plays in the most crucial times of the game, the buzzer beater would not be possible.

but so you know this isn't a Kobe smear campaign I posted all of Kobe Bryant's game winners over his 15 year career. Despite a terrible shooting percentage he has hit 28 buzzer beaters in his Laker's tenure. That deserves some respect and notoriety in it's own right.

Just a Teaser

I don't fuck w/ Tease's.. but in this case it's necessary.. We have some professional footage of this Mac Miller concert but to hold y'all over I thought it would be the right thing to do to drop some fresh off the presses iPhone footage.. As y'all can see the crowd was crazy and in to the music which makes for a hype show.. We got some more EXCLUSIVE content for y'all in the upcoming weeks/months including interviews, drops, and show footage.. This is just the tip of the iceberg.. But until then, enjoy this Mac Miller goodness

Rapture OFF!

Why the fuck is this guy on the television? It makes absolutely no sense to me.. this clown got the "Rapture" wrong back in 1994 and 17 years later they give him more air play. I don't fuck with the mainstream media for reasons like this.. This man has absolutely NO credibility and he's on fucking all the media outlets? Maybe we need to think of some crazy publicity stunt on #JMHO so we get some extra viewership?! People don't realize how good we have it in the USA.. Why would we ever worry or think about the world ending.. Just make your money, get your women, bump your music, and have your fun! Whatever happens, happens.

Here is my Tweet/ FB post of the night.. I'm not trying to force anyone to read the bible or be a Christian.. I respect people of all religions and creeds.. But, since this goober claimed to be a Christian this tweet is fitting..

Fall, already?!

Usually all of my shopping during summer consists of me buying clothes for the upcoming school year, so I look for mainly fall and winter clothing. Fall clothes for me are usually blah, but after looking at Marc by Marc Jacobs' fall 2011 collection I am VERY excited to do some shopping. This collection is very 70's inspired— and my inner hippie thinks its faaaar out.

Kanye Sample Vid.

I was perusing the internet and I came across this Kanye video that I thought was pretty baller. It basically goes through all of his late and great samples. Just in my humble opinion when an artist samples their version shouldn't be taken way out of context of the original sample. Kanye is just a beast though nails it every-time. Listen below.

Oh what the heck i'll throw in some Lupe too...

The VA native is doin BIG BIG THANGS appearing on CNBC's power lunch. Enjoy the video, and don't say we don't try to edumicate you here on JMHO.

Pacquiao vs Marquez

If you listened to my podcast for the Pacquiao v Mosley post fight you already know I am not enamored with this potential Pacquiao v Marquez bout. One of my most trusted sources on boxing, Dwyer & GambelersAdvisory.com, think otherwise. There are some good points and technical points made in this video but I can't see the smaller Marquez stopping the Pacquiao train.

Smif N Wesson ft Sean Price & Styles P-Thats Hard (Produced by Pete Rock)

In case you didnt know, Smif-N-Wessun is releasing an album next month that is produced entirely by the legendary Pete Rock. I do believe this is the first song to be leaked off the album. Check it out.

Run the World (Girls) Video

The video has finally premiered. The dancing in this song is awesome. However this isn't the best song or video I have seen from Beyonce, which makes me a little worried because usually artists come out with one of their best songs first when they have a new album out. I know a lot of people were disappointed with this song, me included. It is growing on me, but it isn't an instant hit like single ladies, which is something I think she was going for— another powerful female anthem. Hopefully other songs (and videos) from this new album are better.

What do you think?

Barcelona

I'm not a Barcelona fan by any sorts, but I do respect the way they play soccer. I've had a great time catching the champions league when I can, and the season culminates with two storied clubs; Manchester United and Barcelona. In celebration of this enormous event Barcelona will unveil their new Uniforms for the upcoming season. Not too many changes, but a great update.

Country Shit BTS

I've been dying to day this: Krit wuz Here > Returnof4eva! I don't mean that in too negative of a way. R4 is a GREAT album in it's own right, and I see improvements in KRITs lyrical ability and production. But, for me, I like the feel of the Krit wuz Here just a tad better. This is not HATE just an opinion and if you check the history here you will see the 3rd coast representa has been on here as much if not more than anyone.

Basically I'm too hype that KRIT is giving some visual treatment to the song that got him noticed in a lot of circles, Country Shit. Enjoy..

Kendrick Lamar With The Wiz Khalifa Impersonation

I don't know if I'm late with this one, but I had to post it . Kendrick Lamar does a DEAD-ON Wiz Khalifa impression, this shit had me geekin for a while. Check it out and see what you all think. No word on what's going on with the camera/video.

Hair

I guess I'll continue on the GaGa trend today. She just dropped another single "Hair." I like this song, its has a good message. It explains a lot about her since she's always changing her hair. It's not my favorite out of the 4 she's dropped so far, but its definitely going to be fun to dance to.

What do you think?

Here is GaGa singing "The Edge of Glory," live. She talks who the song is about and why she keeps dropping songs each week. Its very touching. I just love her because no matter how "weird," people think she is, you must admit she so talented. She can actually sing, she writes her music and she plays the piano. I'm just always impressed by her.

Enjoy.

Now vs Then

I often look back at the great moments in the past and wonder where did we go wrong, are we better off now? Coming soon is my list of now and then and what is next to come. I've gotta leave you with a little soul so enjoy.

Sarah Kay

I'd be lying if I said I was a huge fan of spoken word poetry... I mean its cool and all but I don't find myself seeking it out. However last night after looking at videos on YouTube of old Def Poetry sessions, I came across this young woman named Sarah Kay. She was different from all the other poets, she wasn't the typical black woman scorned— she spoke with such passion and light in her eyes. I don't know how to explain it but I was entranced!

This is her poem "Hands." And like most people, when I discover people I like but have never heard of before, I immediately wikipedia'ed her... (Everyone does that, right? That's not weird?) Turns out she's only 22 years old and from New York. She tells more of her story here:

I know its long, but AT LEAST listen to the first poem she shares, its beautiful!! She goes on to talk about how writing poems is essential for her to figure out why things turned out the way they did, etc. She also teaches some of the essentials in spoken word poetry. Its great.

L.A. Noire (gameplay)

I posted some footage of LA Noire earlier in the month, but released yesterday was this video showcasing the first 15 minutes of actual game play. Which makes the video even better is that it can be seen in stunning 720p visuals. The game looks great and I am certain to buy it opening week. I'll post a few thoughts after I actually get to play the game, and not watch other people play on videos on youtube.

In the meantime I'm about to watch netflix via my PS3 for the first time in what feels like forever. This is shaping up to be a great Sunday of lounging, movies, and some GREAT basketball.

PSN Restoration

This is straight from the official PSN blog

Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.

Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated and change your password, both of which are required to get online.

Ms. Lauryn Hill

Above is a clip from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon from last night with musical guest Lauryn Hill. I stayed up SO late to watch this performance because I LOVE Lauryn Hill. However I was not impressed by this performance. She did a little bit to much of what some like to call "voice gymnastics," your voice is beautiful Lauryn, no need to show us you still got it by hitting every note in your range— because it didn't work.

I also will not comment on her choice of clothes or sporadic arm movements... She went on to sing "Could You Be Loved."

Do you think she redeemed herself?

Common @ the White House

I am a Common fan, but I am certain that the homies Rizzle and Hewie know more of his catalog than I do. I am not going to claim to have listened to all of his songs and I'm almost positive both of them can claim that privilege. I have heard most of his songs since Resurrection and I have always seen his music as uplifting and soulful. I am not going to entertain any of the nonsense that has gone on with his performing at the White House, instead I'll just post a clip of the performance and let ya'll decide what y'all think

This is a little Rant the home Archie Woods aka Rizzle had on twitter tonight. This post will double as our Tweet of the Day.

CHUCK

He wasn't lying. Wiz on some Lex Luger beats >>>>

What You Need

Earlier in the year, I criticized the weekends album "House of Balloons." After multiple listens I see I was terribly wrong. The tape has some good cuts that are good for getting your lumberjack on and I fully endorse it. My favorite song is Party after the Party, and it has made my very selective sexy time playlist. I was "hating" because people were comparing him to Drizzy, but I can't judge him because of what other people say. We created this site to get out our own opinions out not to piggyback off others. Is he a Drake, not yet, but is this a great debut mixtape FUCK YA. I can't ask for much more, and am looking forward to future releases from this artist, I'm certain my girl is too.

Enough of that. Just enjoy the visuals

A little bit of flare

Today when I was looking at the "style" section of people.com I came across this picture of two celebrities rocking the 70's high wasted/ flared leg look. I absolutely fell in love! The second I saw these, I thought back to all the times I should have been studying and decided to watch YouTube videos of woodstock instead.

I think if you pair these jeans with heels and a cute tailored top, you can avoid looking like a hippie— but that's no fun. I found similar looks here:

The LeBrons ep 5

Great episode, and the ending has me looking forward next weeks already.

Native Instruments Maschine

The Maschine is a dope piece of equipment that I've noticed a lot of producers picking up lately. This is a cool little video that shows Steve Dronez using the Maschine to make some awesome music. Give it a look.

Freddie Joachim-Limits

I just got put on to a producer today by the name of Freddie Joachim. His track "Limits" is a really smooth track that I've had on repeat for the past hour so I figured I'd share it with you guys.

Curren$y X Fiend #BloodSweatNGears (Official Video)

The first video released off the instant classic, #CovertCoup, "Blood Sweat N Gears" is a pretty much your standard music video featuring live tour shots and behind the scenes video of Spitta and his crew. This is probably my least favorite song from the FREEep, but the track is still fresh and the video is definitely still worth checking out. I am currently looking forward to songs like "BBS", "Smoke Break", and "Scottie Pippens" getting the video treatment, but beggars can't be chosey in the mean time I guess.

J. Cole #SeeItToBelieveIt

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/35047145/J+Cole.png

Damn this shit right here gooooooes...I mean this can be said for much of Cole's catalog, but damn he came on this one. No word yet on whether this will appear on #ColeWorld or it is just something he wanted to give to the fans, but with constant well-done material like this being released, #ColeWorld might be the classic everyone is hoping for.

Give it a listen.

Wolf Grey V

for those wondering my connect did not come thru and I was unable to get the YOTR 7's. It looks like I will have to settle for the WOLF GREY 5's that come out this Saturday. Here is a video showcasing the shoes..

I will make my own video or pictures and compare the Wolf Grey's to the Cool Grey 11's and the Cool Grey 3's. I was unable to see a video or picture of the 3 so hopefully it stay's that way, and we can get you some more exclusive content here on #JMHO.

Open Your Eyes

Some new visuals from the mixtape of the year candidate Fear of God. Good to see Malice in the video too

Elzhi - ELMATIC

ELMATIC! All the beats from the classic album Illmatic have been tweaked by Will Session and taken on by Elzhi. This is a bold task to try to redo beats and capture the same emotion and lyricism that Nas did with the original. It's tough to see this holding a candle to the legend, but I'm anxious to see how Elzhi does.

Here's the official video for Halftime

For those of you that recognize the name but not the vace or vice versa, Elzhi was a member of popular Detroit group Slum Village. He joined the group in 2001 while they the group was working on Trinity. He's since departed from the group and been working on his solo career since 2010.

New Wizards Uniforms for 2011-2012

Well well well...it looks like the prayers of all Wizards fans (me included) have been answered with the new Rebrand, Redesign, whatever you want to call it, being released today. I cannot lie to you all, I am usually a hater when it comes to teams trying to modernize an old look, or when teams try too hard to change their looks and end up with a disaster (Think Atlanta Hawks), but these new Wizards jerseys are very very clean and well done. Obviously, the highlight of the "rebrand" is the new Home White jersey which combines the look of the 1990's bullets we all grew up with, with the Elvin Hayes stars and stripes bullets which we WISH WE GREW UP WITH haha.
http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/608760/Screen_shot_2011-05-10_at_11.20.42_AM.png

Unfortunately there are no closeups of the shorts that are featured with the jersey but in the picture below you can see the new lower case DC logo which is very reminiscent of the old Bullets logo and a nice little touch of stars and stripes on the side piping. I for one, am a big fan of that lower case dc logo and cannot wait until New era makes a nice little navy fitted with the logo, I can see myself rocking that hat all summer.
Wizards uniform, logo

Aside from the crown jewel of this unveiling (The white jersey), the Wizards also released their Red Road Unis which I DO like but I think will need to grow on me a little. I do appreciate the fact that they kept it historic and made the away jersey red, but that is a helll of a lot of red for one jersey haha. Here it is guys, don't let my opinion sway you, a good deal of people so far have liked this jersey even more then the white one. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/608808/Screen_shot_2011-05-10_at_12.06.40_PM.png

Conclusion:

Pros: Very happy with the red, white, and blue palette, as well as the use of striping on the jersey top and stars and stripes on the shorts. Also the lower case DC logo is the shit.

Cons: I personally wish the jersey's palette would have included a brighter more cartoon red, and instead of using navy, which it seems every team in the league is using now, using a royal blue instead. I also wish there was a little more use of stars on the jersey as that made some of the older designs that much cooler.

Overall Rating: Overall, I'll have to give these jerseys an 8 out of 10. I am a big fan of what they TRIED to accomplish, but I still feel like something is missing. Maybe it's because I'm a traditionalist and like things to be as simple and classic as possible, but I still feel the best option for redesign would've been bringing back the 1990's or 1970's bullets jerseys back verbatim with the bullets logo being changed to the new updated wizards one, very similar to what the Jazz did last year.

Will I buy one?: Yea I think it's pretty safe to say I'll pick up the John Wall swingman in white, as long as the price is right. I am probably more interested in getting a pair of the shorts though, and the dc logo hat which I mentioned earlier. Either way, I'm impressed with today's unveiling and look forward to seeing what the court redesign will look like next.

LOL of the day

This man REALLY wants to shop! He's got some good points though, lol!

Microsoft Buys Skype

I love Skype! I use it on my iphone and my macbook pro more than I use Ichat or Facetime. This is a program that has the potential to be in every home with internet and used worldwide within the next 10 years. It's interesting to see what Microsoft does with it. Just last week I heard that Facebook was offering 4+ billion for Skype, but as we can see if Microsoft want's something it usually get's it. Check out the update from fortune.cnn.com

So much for that Skype IPO.

Fortune has confirmed that Microsoft (MSFT) has agreed to buy the voice-over-Internet company for $8.5 billion, including the assumption of debt. Expect a formal announcement within the next hour.

There had been reports last week that Skype was in acquisition or partnership talks with both Microsoft and Facebook.

Skype will become a new business unit within Microsoft, to be run by current Skype CEO Tony Bates. He will report directly to Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer.

Luxembourg-based Skype began life as a VC-backed company, before being acquired by eBay (EBAY) for $2.6 billion in 2005. The combination didn't quite work out, and eBay gave public thought to either selling the unit outright or spinning it off into an independent public company. In November 2009, it agreed to sell a 65% stake in Skype for $1.9 billion to an investor group that included Silver Lake Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Index Ventures (the 7th-largest leveraged buyout of 2009).

Skype then filed for a $100 million IPO last August. The company reported a $6.9 million net loss in 2010, on nearly $860 million in revenue. It reported just $686 million in long-term debt, and just over $1 billion in liabilities.

A couple quick thoughts, as details continue to come in:

1. This is, obviously, a remarkable return for the PE/VC firms that carved out Skype in November 2009. Not just cash-on-cash, but also IRR (which takes length of investment into account). Remember, this was a very controversial deal at the time. Pretty sure the term "hairy" was used more than once. There were questions as to whether Skype's problems should be pinned on eBay or were inherent, and there were subsequent lawsuits from the company's founders (who ultimately received a small ownership stake). Moreover, this was the single-largest check ever written by Silver Lake, and the first time that Andreessen Horowitz -- a very new firm at the time -- had done something that didn't look at all like traditional venture capital.

2. Remember all that talk that Microsoft was on the M&A sidelines? Pretty sure that will be tamped down for a bit... Particularly if Facebook also made a bid. And this clearly will improve the value proposition of Microsoft devices like XBox and Kinect.

3. The price-tag suggests that eBay made a shrewd move in holding onto a large Skype stake, rather than selling the entire thing in 2009.

More to come later this morning...

By Any Means

Los-Hustle Hard

Baltimore MD's own Los goes in on Ace Hoods street single Hustle Hard. I saw Los last year opening up for Big Sean and I will say dude has crazy energy on the stage. I haven't heard much from him soon, but his new mixtape will be dropping real soon

3 Predictions/ Tweets of the Day

I made three predictions on the Heat v Celtics game via twitter before the 1st half and before the 2nd half started. I hate to toot my own horn but I was 3/3.

The promise I made about over tweeting was futile, I let loose of over 20 tweets during the hotly contested game. So, if you want to nitpick, I guess you can say I'm 3/4.

Also I would like to give Chris Bosh a public appology. He played terrible in game 3 but during the season I saw flashes of greatness from him. His jumper from the elbow, when its on, is a huge asset for this team. I just hope he realizes when his shot is not on he still must rebound the ball. Now BOSH please don't make me regret this.
