OGDK Review

I got put on to Dom Kennedy by Rizzle not to long ago. He recommended From Westside with Love, this tape was near classic status so this tape had a lot of hype to live up to in my eyes. I am proud to say Dom didn't disappoint with OGDK. This whole tape sounds like an album and flows together quite nicely minus one hiccup. If you are looking for some complex, over your head, mind bending bars, you will not find them here. This is riding music at it's finest. It's a tape you just pop in and you don't have to press skip.

When I think of the west coast I think about beautiful women, weed, and a laid back mindset. I hear Dom spit I get the vibe that I'm riding down the block in my low rider with some daytons peeping mami's on the avenue. His lyrics take me to a happy chill place with dimes around. So despite him not being the most lyrical he gets credit for having rhymes and delivery that I can visualize and relate to.

Here are a few of my standouts from the tape:

This song is without a doubt my favorite. I can't wait to bump this in the summer with the windows down. This is classic Dom Kennedy right here.

This beat and song can only be described as WEST COAST. I fuck with how dissed Flex for somewhat dissin 2pac. I respect him standing up for his coast and arguably the best rapper ever.

OGDK gets a rating of 8.5/10
I fully anticipate this tape to make my top 10 tapes of 2011
