Well, paper books are slowly but surely loosing their war against the kindle. I was holding out on getting one, not wanting to change something so simple, so rewarding as reading a book to become just another casualty of technology. I really enjoy reading, and I love after I'm done reading a lengthy (most likely Harry Potter) novel I can look back and see just how much I read.
Then today I saw this commercial. First it really pissed me off... then it really made sense to me. Books on the kindle are cheaper than paper back or hard covers (averaging $10). They don't wear out like real books, so if you're a veracious reader you can read it again and again and again without being distracted by ripped pages. They are also, obviously more eco friendly (saving trees, people).
So I don't know if I will be getting a Kindle anytime soon, I think I'll hold off for a while longer. I honestly can't imagine never walking into a Borders or Barnes and Nobel again. There is just something about actual books and bookstores. But I suppose all things must change one day.
